Chemical Brownie

Do you remember a few years ago, the performances by Chemical Ali?

“There is no presence of American infidels in the city of Baghdad”,

he declared to journalists on the roof of the Palestine Hotel as gunfire echoed across the city and tanks fired from the banks of the Tigris just a few hundred yards away.

Classic.

Now consider the words of Gordon Brown a couple of days ago when interviewed by the BBC.

“We’ve seen house prices rise by about 180 per cent over the last 10 years and they have risen by about 18 per cent over the last three years, so a 2.5 per cent fall is something that is containable.”

Containable? To me that means ‘they’ll not drop much further.’ Do me a favour Gordon, you’re not Tony and none of the red-top readers believe you.

My bet is that a year from now we’ll be laughing at Gordon in just the same way as Ali, and lets not forget Gordon’s ‘No more boom and bust’ declaration when he first took over as Chancellor.

Come on Gordon, tell us another!
